Elderly Care

Apart from being committed to be a world-class electricity supplier, HK Electric is also keen to fulfil its corporate social responsibility. For community service, the Company has dual focuses on elderly care and environmental protection. Its flagship community programmes "CAREnJOY for the Elderly" (CAREnJOY) and "The University of 3rd Age (U3A) Network of Hong Kong" have come to meet the needs of the elderly in Hong Kong.

Launched in 2008, CAREnJOY encourages single elders to reach out for community support and promotes electrical safety through home visits and district-based talks cum gatherings.

Founded in 2006, U3A advocates self-driven life-long learning and sharing among retirees, and encourages the young old to continue contributing to society. In 2018, the "Smart Power Ambassadors Training Programme" was introduced under U3A, to educate senior citizens on energy efficiency and low carbon lifestyle, and invite ambassadors to spread green messages in the community.
