Trainee Technician

Introduction

Our Trainee Technicians (TTs) will undergo a two-year training programme in the Transmission and Distribution Division or Generation Division to acquire the respective skills and knowledge. The programme of the Transmission and Distribution Division is the first of its kind be accredited by The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) as its Associate Membership Programme for trainees. Our tutors will closely coach and support each TT to maximise his/her learning. At the same time, the TTs will be placed at different departments to receive technical training and acquire non-technical skills and knowledge, such as health, safety and environmental awareness, communication skills, and computer applications, etc.

Upon completion of the programme, they will be appointed as Technicians and placed at a particular department to perform technical duties. Those who pass the relevant authorisation assessments and demonstrate good work performance may receive special salary adjustments or be promoted to higher positions such as senior technicians or even engineers.

Entry Requirements

The applicant for Trainee Technician Programme should be:

A final year student or recent graduate with a Higher Diploma or Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering / Electronic Engineering / Mechanical Engineering, and with good academic results and a genuine passion for a professional engineering career;
A team player with good communication skills and leadership potential; and
Analytical, innovative, proactive, self-motivated and adaptable.
