There are currently four types of concessionary tariff schemes, namely, Concessionary Tariff Schemes for the Elderly, the Disabled, Single-parent Families and the Unemployed.

The following concessionary tariff schemes are jointly organised by HK Electric and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service. The successful applicants are entitled to receive 60% discount for the first 200 units of electricity consumed in a month plus the exemption of the payment of deposit and Minimum Charge.

Application Procedure

Please submit the completed application form together with a copy of the electricity bill and other required documents stated in the application form directly to the assessment centre in the local district or via other social service organisations. Assessment centres will only accept applications from residents living in the local district so as to avoid double applications.

Applications will first be vetted by the assessment centre. Once verified and assessed, the applications will then be forwarded to HK Electric for final processing and approval. Successful applicants will be notified by mail.

After joining the scheme, please inform HK Electric at 2887 3411 or the assessment centre if there is any change of the information. HK Electric will conduct periodical checking on the concessionary accounts to make sure the customers are still eligible for the scheme. HK Electric Company reserves the right to terminate the concessionary tariff according to the latest customer information.

For further enquiries, please call HK Electric at 2887 3411 during office hours.
